DEBENHAMS ANNOUNCES CHARITY PARTNERSHIP WITH HELP FOR HEREOS

Debenhams is delighted to announce its new partnership with Help for Heroes, a charity that supports wounded, injured and sick service personnel, their families and veterans.

Launching on Saturday 1 March with a national fundraising weekend in stores, Debenhams will dedicate the whole month to raising funds for the charity, aiming to raise a minimum of £75,000.

The retailer will also be supporting Help for Heroes with a range of limited edition merchandise. Exclusive sweatshirts and t-shirts for men by Red Herring will be available in stores ranging from £20-£35, with 100% of profits being donated to the charity.

Photographed in a selection of these items are two army veteran heroes, Jamie Hull and Dan Richards. Jamie Hull said:  "These are great T-shirts, offering Debenhams' customers the chance to show a symbol of their support for our wounded.  There are several designs, giving people the option to wear something a little different and raise awareness for Help for Heroes.”

Chair of the Debenhams Foundation Nikki Zamblera said: “We are delighted to announce our partnership with Help for Heroes. Debenhams is committed to raising money for causes that are close to the hearts of our staff and customers and we look forward to supporting Help for Heroes as part of our wider commitment to charity.”

Help for Heroes’ mission is to deliver a lasting national network of support for wounded servicemen and their families. The charity inspires and enables those who have made sacrifices on the countries behalf to achieve their full potential.

Bryn Parry, CEO & Co-Founder of Help for Heroes said: “Help for Heroes is hugely grateful to Debenhams for the amazing support it is giving us.  What really makes the contribution stand out is the range of support provided; from allowing us to run a national collection weekend at stores, to developing a range of clothing in partnership with H4H. Servicemen and women who are injured today will still need our support tomorrow and in the days that follow, for the rest of their lives. They are still battling and we won't let them battle alone."

Sitting alongside BBC Children in Need and Think Pink (Debenhams’ own breast cancer initiative) Help for Heroes is the third official charity partner supported by the Debenhams Foundation. The 200 year old department store chose these charities following feedback from its customers and employees.

The Debenhams Foundation is Debenhams’ own charity that was set up in 2012. Since its launch the Foundation has raised over £1m for good causes.
