Menswear AW17

For AW17 the J by Jasper Conran collection delivers its understated contemporary style with an effortless mix from tailored to casual. Bombers and flight jackets in technical nylon sit alongside wool pea-coats and a sharply tailored Epsom. Tones of rich merlot and deep khaki green complement the house palette of navy, blue and white. Pattern and texture layer in with geometric prints and jacquards on shirts and ties, stripes, ribs and pique knits on cashmere, wool and cotton worn back with a simply tailored unlined basket weave single breasted jacket.

Contemporary classics with a retro twist form the basis of the AW17 Racing Green collection. Classic oxford shirts, crew-neck knitwear and casual chinos arrive in shades of rust orange, muted mustard and forest greens. Clashed with neutral khaki and rich berries, the contrast of colour provides a modern take on a nostaligic 1970’s palette.

3-in-1 jackets are a key introduction for AW17. Hooded utility parkas with army pocket details and zip-out quilted bomber jackets tick off the military trend for the new season.

Dependable staples and classic core pieces are teamed with bold checked shirts and jewel toned knitwear for a seasonal update from RJR.John Rocha.

Chunky shawl cardigans and cable knit jumpers in warm autumnal orange and classic navy are worn under fur trimmed parkas and chocolate brown aviator jackets, the result of which is a for a modern day twist on the classic winter wardrobe.

Hammond and Co. by Patrick Grant moves away from its signature muted blue palette for AW17 with an injection of fresh coal tones. Drawing inspiration from vintage 1940’s newspapers, faded blacks and bi-tonal greys are layered against shades of white and applied to sharp suits and casual wardrobe staples.

Soft deconstructed tailoring in classic windowpane and Prince of Wales checks form an unexpectedly relaxed silhoutte for AW17. The new season’s collection provides a strong offering of statement outerwear and timeless looks. Duffel coats in camel melton and staple macs in monochrome checks are key for the winter months.

Red Herring introduces two key looks for the new season. The first of which is ‘Paris Noir’, think clean silhouettes with a stripped back edge. Black leather bikers, tan shearling flight jackets and muted roll neck knits are paired with grey vintage washed denim and crisp white cottons. Layered together or worn separately, the look exudes effortless Parisian cool.

The second look, ‘Survivalist,’ fuses classic military inspiration with a contemporary street-wear aesthetic. Camouflage makes a welcomed appearance in nylon cagoules and laid back over- shirts worn with statement MA1 bomber jackets. The look is dark, moody and unapologetic.
