Womenswear AW17

Studio by Preen Jumper £55 Coat £120

With a focus on outerwear, oversized graphic checks and vibrant
reds provide a statement for J by Jasper Conran for AW17. The
burgundy wrap coat for cool autumn days leads to the double
breasted city coat later in the season. Bold patterns take the
form of the Prince of Wales check in a mix of scales, alongside
cut out floral shadow prints. Colour highlights include flame red
and rich wine tones alongside graphic black and ivory in wool,
crepe, cotton and jersey.
The RJR.John Rocha collection explores eastern opulence
where texture and colour are key. Sumptuous deep plum velvet
elevates the simple trouser suit and floral embellishment adds
a contemporary edge to outerwear. Metallic lace and ethereal
embroidered florals enrich separates and dresses for the
dressing up revival.
Romantic anarchy embodies the Studio by Preen range with
feminine cascading ruffles, contrasting with rebellious high shine
PVC and sartorial checks. Unique pieces exuding modernity
stand out against a palette of monochrome with flashes of flame
red. Perfectly tailored separates work best in the season’s key
heritage checks and hand painted florals showcase this season’s
key dress shapes.
Star by Julien Macdonald dials up the drama for AW17 with
an abundance of glitz and glamour. Gold sequin dresses are
worked into a colour palette of midnight and Ochre. Velvets,
jacquards and metallics injected into the collection reference
the opulent catwalk trend this season. Prints and colours are
bold and standout with gold and ochre yellow offset with snake
print. Must have pieces include the lace up corset blouse and
luxe military jacket.
Print mixing in geometrics and head-to-toe colour drenching
make a vibrant statement for Principles by Ben de Lisi. Design
classics are reinvented where the wrap dress is colour blocked,
eye-catching sleeves and cuff detail add punch to the blouse
and the iconic blazer returns in a statement tone. Tailoring is key
to the collection with attention drawn to the female form. Key
pieces include the fuchsia power suit.
Whimsical vintage florals offer a romantic feel to the
Nine by Savannah Miller collection. Winter florals in a rich colour
palette adorn the smock blouse and trapeze dress. Wallpaper
florals with a chinoiserie edge decorate wrap knits and blouses.
Whilst in outerwear the shearling coat and embellished drummer
boy jacket toughen up this look.
Based on romance and heartache, combined with 90’s
undertones the collection for H! By Henry Holland oozes feminine
grunge. Grunge brushed check pieces are given a pretty edge
with puff sleeves, pearl trims and broach like embroidery. Clean
functional shapes juxtapose bold colours and pretty florals clash
reflecting the playfulness of the brand. Key pieces include the
lilac shearling biker and stripe corset blouse.
Military detailing meets pretty embroidered mesh floral dresses
to create a feeling of ethereal revolution for Red Herring. Cargo
pants and embroidered denim offer a utility feel and corsetry
and slogans provide the feeling of a feminist revolution. Crushed
velvets, brocades and satin offer opulence to the collection
complete with a strong oriental influence. Favourite pieces
include the velvet coat and embroidered floral dress.
With a nod to the 1940’s glamorous screen sirens, the
No.1 Jenny Packham collection oozes sophistication with floor
length gowns in luxe tulles and satins adorned in decadent
embellishments. A focus on sweeping silhouettes and a rich
colour palette create a collection filled with Hollywood glamour
and grace. Key pieces include the ombré embellished princess
dress and cape sleeve gown.
Inspired by sculpture and form Siren by Giles presents its
strong aesthetic in the bold shape and cuts of the garments.
Adventurous details in pleating and corseting sit alongside bold
stripes and vibrant orange. Oversized sleeves and a feminine
feel with pearl details ring true with Giles’ handwriting giving this
collection a chic and defined finish. Must-have pieces include
the stripe asymmetric dress and velvet cocktail top.
Opulence and grandeur mixed with sassy fun capture the
Butterfly by Matthew Williamson occasion collection.
Delivering a contemporary look with Matthew’s renowned
handwriting of sequins, fun faux-fur and fringing combined with
lavish embroidery are perfect for this season’s most fashionable
evening out. Key pieces include the faux fur colour block jacket
and beaded cocktail dress.
Inspired by “Red Shoes” Debut dances its way into the autumn
winter season. Plush velvets and intricate lace fabrications
combine with a rich colour palette and opulent metallic seen on
the catwalks. Statement jacquard completes this contemporary
gothic fairy tale.
